I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, an Independent Mental Health Practitioner, and a Provisional Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor. I am passionate about working with individuals, couples, and families.
I understand that therapy is hard work, I desire to walk alongside my clients as they embark on their unique journey toward healing. I believe that all of my clients have the power to enact change in their lives and seek to encourage and challenge them as they move towards their goals. I strive to provide my clients with empathy and compassion and to create an environment where they feel safe to process their emotions and experiences. I am a firm believer in the power of hope, grace, and humor.
I earned my Master’s degree at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in Marriage & Family Therapy. I received my certification in Medical Family Therapy at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and Guy Diamond Attachment-Based Family Therapy.
Throughout my professional experience, I have always sought out job opportunities where I am working with individuals and their families. As a therapist, I have worked at UNMC as a behavioral therapist, at Jenda Family Services as an outpatient therapist as well as an in-home therapist, and I have also worked at a private practice seeing individuals, couples, and families. Before becoming a therapist, I gained experience working with diverse populations in various settings. Some of these include drug court, family support, street outreach, group home, emergency shelter, Lincoln Public School District, Multiple Sclerosis Society Mid-America Chapter, and mentoring college and high school students. I have also had the opportunity to work with individuals and families in four other countries.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, listening to music, binge-watching comedies, attending sporting events, working out, and traveling around the world!
